CASE STUDY:

Environmental Control Units: Coatings Industry Success Story

Industrial Dehumidifier Rentals Alberta

Tank coating is a sensitive operation that requires a high degree of precision. Achieving an even coating would be nearly impossible unless ideal temperature and humidity are maintained.

A prominent coatings contractor undertook a tank coating operation in a midstream processing facility in Alberta, Canada. The contractor had four desiccant dehumidifiers on site but quickly realized they couldn’t maintain humidity, temperature, and airflow. This led to rework, delay and a loss of time and revenue.

The contractor required a technology that could address the issues related to temperature volatility and lack of airflow.

The contractor replaced the four desiccant dehumidifiers on site with two (2) Cahill Environmental Control units. Designed to function as a humidifier and an air conditioner, the Cahill units enabled the contractor to thermostatically control temperature and maintain ambient conditions throughout the coating process. Moreover, with fans producing 10,000 CFM, the environmental control unit also helped increase air flow, resulting in quicker operation and instantly increasing the workers’ comfort level.

The timely technology switch allowed the customer to eliminate the threat of rework, reduce their equipment footprint, and save on rental/fuel costs. With the Cahill Environmental control units requiring far less maintenance, the contractor also drastically reduced downtime and saved on labour costs.
